Earth Observation as a Service

What is the mission of ExoLabs?
ExoLabs uniqueness lies in integral and agile data processing from many sources, in particular from operational satellite missions, to enable near real-time monitoring and the quantification of various environmental variables on a global scale.

What does ExoLabs offer?
ExoLabs ensures that cutting-edge scientific research finds a direct implementation in user-defined applications by providing unique data products and by building customized solutions for their clients that deliver financial and operational advantages. To overcome big data challenges, they exploit machine learning algorithms and utilize cloud computing facilities to carry out advanced data processing and analysis on local to global scales – both in retrospect for the past 40 years and as a near real-time solution.

What is the Space Tech behind it?
The space connection is given by the synergistic use of various satellite systems, to maximize the number of observations, integrate various pixel sizes, and evaluate the optical properties of environmental variables beyond the range of visible light. This approach results in gap-free data products, characterized by a high spatial and temporal resolution for potentially any place in the world.

What are the applications?
In the context of climate change and the associated changes in environmental conditions, ExoLabs enable businesses to better apply insights from Earth Observation (EO) data across sectors ranging from energy, insurance, tourism, commodity trading or agriculture to research and government.

How is ExoLabs supporting the UN SDGs?
Our environmental products such as the daily snow monitoring, enable positive impacts in the areas of renewable energy (e.g. hydropower assets – SDG 7, 9), food supply (e.g. water management for agriculture – SDG 2, 13, 15) or decision support for adaptation strategies to climate change (e.g. winter tourism – SDG 13) by providing comprehensive and quantifiable information on a global scale.

GOAL 2: Zero Hunger
GOAL 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
GOAL 13: Climate Action
GOAL 15: Life on Land
