What is the mission of Stratosyst?
Stratosyst is a Czech technology start-up in the fast-growing segment of Near Space and High-Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HAPS). The company’s goal is to provide high-quality data services from the stratosphere that are more agile and affordable compared to satellite data. The main focus includes the provision of telecommunication signal, GNSS augmentation and Earth Observation.
What does Stratosyst offer?
Stratosyst is developing HAPS that can fly at an altitude of approximately 20 km for an extended period of time – weeks to months. The platform can accommodate a wide range of applications and provide services complementary to satellites for a fraction of costs. The added value will be ground-based AI data processing based on our customer’s requirements or provision of raw data.
What is the Space Tech behind it?
The synergy effect created between satellites and HAPS platforms comes mainly from different types of data that can be provided from orbit and from the stratosphere. By working together, they fill the gaps of each technology. HAPS and satellites will create a multilayer constellation which can offer everything from global high-speed connection and precise navigation to local HD Earth Observation. The core of Stratosyst technology is processing and provision of various types of data.
What are the applications?
By placing Earth observation payload to significantly lower altitude, Stratosyst can provide incomparably more precise data for a more affordable price. Furthermore, by interconnecting with current telecommunication and satellite networks, the company will be able to secure connectivity between ground and orbit to enable drone utilization as well as contribute to the expansion of IoT and 5G.

The platform is universal and hence can help with achieving various types of social or environmental issues. By connecting the emerging countries with the rest of the world, Stratosyst can create new job positions or ease education. High-resolution EO will help with agriculture or climate change monitoring.
